Two IIT-Bombay students, Rajendra Bhaskar and Sushil Reddy, have set out on a 70-day journey, riding a customised solar bicycle in turns, to spread awareness about solar energy.
The Energy Science students attached four solar panels to the bicycle, named Sunpedal, for powering a motor that will assist them in covering 6,000 km across five states.
Rajendra is in his final year, while Sushil is an alumnus who finished college in 2013.
Four solar panels are attached to the trailer, which supply a power of 240 Watts to a 48 Volt lithium-ion battery used to run a rear hub motor.
Rajendra and Sushil are conducting conferences, seminars, meetings, etc. with schools, universities, and organizations in every city.
