The entrance exam to Presidency University entrance test may be held even outside the state this year with the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board considering conducting the test in Jamshedpur, Agartala and Guwahati apart from the various centres across Bengal.

The board has decided to assign the candidates to 15 exam zones.  The result will be published on August 3.

In the lines of the entrance exam for engineering, also conducted by the same board, candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination hall after the start of the test.

“There will be no one-mark question this time. Instead, most will carry 2 marks.  Any wrong response or multiple responses will fetch negative marking of one-fourth of the score.  Entrance tests will be for 15 subjects, each in UG and PG.  Candidates can choose from 40 different combinations but they cannot apply for more than two subjects,” the official said.
