The Ministry of Personnel has prepared an advisory for all the states and union territories asking them to issue caste and domicile certificates to students when they are studying in Class-5 or 8.
As per the advisory, the school principals will collect the documents and submit to the concerned authorities, following which, the certificates may be issued within 30-60 days.
If the certificate of any student is rejected for issue of the relevant certificate, reasons will be provided and provision for one time appeal can be allowed by the state authorities.
