Minister for Higher Education T.B.Jayachandra has said that the State government will bring in a new Education Policy and that the Knowledge Commission headed by former ISRO Chairman Kasturirangan has submitted a report in this regard to the government.

Addressing a press conference on Monday, Mr.Jayachandra said that the new policy will help to address the issues related to the education sector.  A lot of changes will be brought in, right from anganwadi to higher education.

Issues such as quality education, revision of curriculum, infrastructure, employability, and skill development will be addressed.  To bring synergy between industry and education, the curriculum has to be changed according to the requirements of the industry, which will increase the employability.

He said the government has also taken the suggestions of scientist C.N.R. Rao in this regard.

Mr. Jayachandra said that a meeting of Vice-Chancellors of Universities in the State will be held on June 15 to discuss about the new education policy.
