The world is witnessing a revolution wherein Logistics Technology is moving ahead of Information Technology, said Garry Jacobs, chairman and CEO of the World University Consortium.
He was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function organised for granting World University Consortium membership to Kochi-based Global Institute of Integral Management Studies (GIIMS) on Thursday.
According to Garry, the modern world is all about ‘speed,’ which makes execution of jobs faster. That is where logistics management comes into play.
“The bigger concern is how fast people, goods and money can be moved from one place to another. In such a scenario, there is a vast scope for logistics technology and management. The sector can attain development by ensuring quality education to students who pursue careers in it,” he said.
According to Garry, Indians are in forefront in terms of intellectual capacity. However, intellectual capacity is not the only thing counted at workplaces. The required competence can be developed by imparting quality education, he said.
