The NGOs, corporate sector and the government have jointly created a mobile application named Identifykids for the purpose of identifying children who have never gone to school or are dropouts and bring them to the mainstream of education in Nashik.

The NGO involved here is Education on Wheels.  The NGO tries to provide education to children living below poverty line in slum areas, who are deprived of education, at their doorstep.

The NGO backed by educationist Sachin Joshi along with the Tata Consultancy Services started Disk Innovation Centre in Nashik.  The objective was to identify and work on the challenges and solution in education.  And as a pilot project the app was launched.

The Nashik Municipal Corporation has also taken interest in the project. It has appointed teachers to identify out of school children through the app.  The municipal corporation have asked to prepare the report by September 1.

On September 5, the report will be sent to the municipal commissioner, education minister and the chief minister.  The project is expected to be implemented in other States in the near future.
