Mairaj Ahmad Khan won the silver medal in the skeet event at the ISSF Shooting World Cup in Rio de Janeiro on Sunday, becoming the first Indian to bag a medal in the event at a World Cup.
The 40-year-old shooter finished with an overall tally of 14 in the Gold medal match and lost out to Marcus Svensson of Sweden in the Gold medal match in a shoot off after the latter was also tied at 14.
Sweden’s Marcus Svennson won the gold medal. Last year, Mairaj also became the first Indian to qualify for the Olympics skeet event.
