Admissions are open for medicine course in the Gomel State Medical University in Belarus (Eastern Europe).

Gomel University faculty of General Medicine for Overseas Students administrative officer Maryna Piatrenka and Medico Abroad managing partner Rajaram spoke to the media on Wednesday to give the details.

Ms. Piatrenka said the Gomel (also known as Homiel) State Medical University was established in 1990. The medical university had 36 departments and 25 specialities and a strong faculty with 370 professors and lecturers and the support of 18 large clinics having 5,000 funded beds.

Over 540 foreign students from 26 countries were pursuing medical education.  Indian students, who are 200 in number, constitute the biggest contingent, she said.

The cost of the entire six- year course in Gomel was just Rs. 21 lakh.  The facility of paying Rs. 1.40 lakh per semester was also available.
