The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has directed the University Grants Commission (UGC) to amend its new regulation regarding the workload of teachers.
Earlier, the UGC had issued a notification to increase teachers’ lecture-taking hours from 16 to 24 per week.
However, this will now not come into effect as a consequence of the direction from the MHRD.
