With an increase in the number of PSUs visiting IIT Kharagpur campus, a record number of over 1000 students have bagged lucrative jobs in just 13 days of the first phase of placement season this year, officials said.
So far around 175 companies, including 44 PSUs have visited the campus and recruited close to 1050 students.
There is an increase in the number of PSUs visiting the campus this year. Already seven PSUs have recruited 44 students during the placement process with Coal India hiring the highest number of 26 students.
Till date the IIT has received 24 international offers from companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Sprinklr and Delta Electronics.
Prof Debasis Deb, Chairman of Career Development Centre at the IIT, said core engineering sector has seen an increase in the number of offers this year.
